Wash and slice potatoes thinly almost all the way through. Make sure NOT to cut all the way, leave a little at the bottom so it stays together.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees

Season with oil, salt, pepper, and parsley.

Place potatoes on a baking pan.

Put in the oven for 30 minutes at the bottom rack, then switch to top rack to make the top layer get crispy

Take potatoes out after one hour cooking, or when the outside turn golden brown and crispy. Rub butter around the potatoes to add extra flavor.

  1. I’ve seen this technique before, but forgot all about it. I’d love to try this. I’d like to make it with Yukon Golds as they’re my favorite! (Well, let’s face it, I love all potatoes!) πŸ˜‰

    1. Yukon golds taste great with this recipe (I tried it once and it looks like a little cute caterpillar after baked)
      I added oil, salt, pepper and parsley from the beginning, but some people prefer to add salt and pepper at the end. You really have to play around and see which one suits your taste. Ho-ray for all potatoes! πŸ˜€
